Christmas Party Outfits - 10 Rules For Getting it Right

Unique Wedding InvitationsThe Office Christmas Party is the chance for you to let your hair down, and for your boss to let you know that your hard work is appreciated. You don't have to be a trained stylist in order to look fantastic at your Christmas Party.

Here's what you need to know:

1. Your office party isn't a fashion show, so you won't need to spend a fortune on a dress from your favourite designer, or the latest styles hot off the catwalk. If you want to treat yourself to something, like a new dress, or a new shirt or suit, then why not see if you can find something that you can wear at other times of the year, or for other events?

2. You don't have to buy new clothes, to look good. Why not see if you've got something that would fit the bill already? You can always accessorise, or set it off with new shoes.

4. If you're not good at choosing clothes then seek help. A colleague or partner is much more likely to give you their honest opinion that a sales person trying to sell you something. You don't want to stand out for the wrong reasons.

5. Find out what colleagues are wearing. This will help you to decide what sort of thing you can wear, and also make sure that you don't clash, or turn up in the same outfit.

6. Remember that being overdressed is much better than being underdressed. You don't want to be the person wearing jeans and trainers whilst everyone else is wearing a suit!

7. If you work in a formal environment, then you might want to choose a less formal dress code for your office party this Christmas. And if you have a more casual dress policy at work, then why not be more formal for this year's office Christmas Party?

8. Make sure that your outfit is practical. You'll be expected to dance for at least a little while, and you'll probably have to climb stairs too.

9. Try and make sure that your outfit is comfortable. Shoes especially are often the main cause of discomfort. Why not wear your new shoes in for a while, so that you get used to them?

10. Whatever you decide to wear, you are representing your company. You don't want to embarrass yourself or your colleagues or your company by turning up to an exclusive party venue, in an offensive T shirt and dirty ripped jeans whilst your colleagues and superiors are looking impeccable in dinner jackets waiting fro a speech from the MD!

Now you know what you should and shouldn't wear to your Office Christmas Party, isn't it time you got your Christmas Party Outfit sorted out?!
